West Fraser facilities operate state of the art equipment and controls to ensure their MDF panels meet the strictest of quality control standards. West Fraser’s WestPine plant operation is a state-of-the-art continuous press with sophisticated computer controls and instrumentation to produce a wide range panel products. WestPine’s MDF panels are ideally suited for laminating and painting applications.

Moisture Resistance:

EcoPlus MR50™ meets or exceeds the reduced thickness swell and advanced bond integrity requirements for MR50 as defined in ANSI MR50, and is specifically designed to perform in non-structural interior applications where humidity may be a concern.

Fire Resistance:

Testing completed on WestPine MDF, show material being Class III or C in accordance with ULC Standard CAN/ULC-S102.

Sustainability:

  • Formaldehyde emissions: WestPine MDF – EPA TSCA Title VI, CARB ATCM 93120.
  • 100% no-added formaldehyde.
  • West Fraser’s MDF products are manufactured from 100% recycled wood fiber that is a by-product of sawmill operations.
