This hardwood plywood is prefinished with a clear, protective UV coating. Saving time and effort, this finish seals the wood to increase moisture, dirt, and stain resistance. This prefinished plywood offers a contemporary low sheen and a durable hardwood surface.

Consistently available and with a sustainably harvested, stable hardwood core, Element PerformPly™ is the solution to your White Birch plywood needs. This multi-use sustainable plywood product is a versatile panel with a dense hardwood core. Durable and resilient, White Birch from Element PerformPly™ is ideally utilized in cabinetry, millwork and furniture. Known for its beautiful veneer and superior strength, Element PerformPly™ is environmentally sustainable and conflict free.

Rotary Slice:

Rotary Sliced veneer is peeled from a whole log set in a lathe and turned against a special knife, resulting in a cut that roughly parallels the growth rings to produce a bold and often striated grain pattern. Like unwinding a roll of paper, the ribbon of veneer is then cut to usable widths. Rotary Slice creates exceptionally wide sheets with distinctive grain patterns. Rotary cutting is the only method of producing veneer that creates WPF Matching. This is generally the most economical way to create veneer and is the most common cut for Birch.

Whole Piece Face Matching:

WPF Matching is a continuous piece of veneer peeled from a log using the Rotary Slicing method. The result is a single sheet of veneer that reveals a continuous grain pattern throughout the sheet. WPF is most desired for Birch, as it displays the natural grain character of the wood species.

Specifications

Standard, Gold, and Platinum Grading:

Standard

Utilizing a stable and strong hardwood core, PerformPly™ Standard pairs functionality with performance. PerformPly™ Standard is ideal for cabinetry, furniture, millwork and shelving.

Gold

PerformPly™ Gold is a versatile plywood panel consisting of an upgraded A grade hardwood core for maximum stability and reliability, making it a long-lasting addition to interior designs.

Platinum

Element PerformPly™ Platinum offers a further improved A grade hardwood core using long grain whole piece components, resulting in a premium edge appearance. PerformPly™ Platinum is an optimal choice for high end and demanding projects, especially if there is need to showcase an exposed edge.

Core:

This is a hardwood veneer core which is sourced from sustainably harvested plantations. The core consists of one or more plies of hardwood veneer. Each sheet is laid with the grain direction at a right angle to the adjacent sheets. This allows for excellent screw holding ability and impressive stability.

A Grade Core

Each panel of Element PerformPly™ Gold and Platinum is constructed using an upgraded A Grade hardwood core. Sheets of this sustainably harvested hardwood are laid with the grain running perpendicular to each adjacent sheet, resulting in impressive stability and strong hold when installing screws. The core is designed to display smooth edges that can be left visible for quick and easy applications.

C Grade Import Plywood:

C Grade has fewer defects, no open knots, is clear and clean and has no streaking. C Grade Plywood allows for some natural characteristics. Because of the inherent individuality of each tree and species, consideration should be given to the overall appearance of the veneer face to determine the appropriate grade for that veneer.

White Birch Color Grade:

Like Birch lumber, Birch veneer is graded by its color. White Birch consists of clear sapwood, a brilliant light tone unique to this species. White Birch has minimal color variation and reduced allowance for natural characteristics like mineral streaks. Birch has a straight grain with a fine, even texture.

Please consult with your Sales or Specifications Representative, as we can help you determine what grade is acceptable to you for color, size and amount of pin knots, rough grain or other defects in order to get you the product that works best for your applications.

Sustainability:

CARB Phase 2 and TSCA Title VI Certified

Element PerformPly™ delivers European White Birch from Estonia that is sourced from conflict free and environmentally sustainable producers. The hardwood core is harvested on plantations that adhere to rigorous ethical and environmental standards which ensures a consistent supply and continued affordability for these European White Birch plywood products.

We recognize the importance of ethically harvested lumber. As our most valuable resource, sustainably harvested forests increase the rate of carbon sequestration and significantly cut carbon emissions. Wood is a renewable and sustainable material for the built environment, requiring less energy than alternatives like concrete or steel. From harvesting to recycling, lumber is the most carbon-efficient choice for building materials. Wood is of the few elements that can increase sustainability in a building’s life cycle, reduce waste, and create positive biophilic health benefits. Increasingly, architects and designers are calling for a return to wood as the prominent basic building material.
