Specifications
HDF is composed of special product formulations which enhance the productivity and quality of specific end use applications. Density of the panels are 55 lb/ft3 which is significantly higher than medium density panels. Fiber is refined into smaller particulates through multiple phases to create an engineered panel composition that allows the most intricate details to be profiled in the finished product.
Available HDF product options include:
- Standard HDF: used for painted and machined applications where smoothly finished surfaces and cleanly machined edges are required.
- Door Crossbands: used as a substrate upon which wood veneer or other laminate materials are bonded for solid core door surfaces.
- Moisture Resistant: used to achieve reduced-thickness swell relative to standard HDF when exposed to moisture. This product is for interior use only, not “waterproof” and not intended for wet area applications.
- Plywood Core: used as inner core material for hot pressed plywood.
- HDF Ultra Core: used in laminated or painted applications requiring a flat, uniform HDF face and the exceptional mechanical properties of a Structural – 1 softwood plywood core.
Sustainability:
Weyerhaeuser is an industry leader in using wood from forests managed to sustainable standards and making the most of each tree.
