Guide to Maintaining Duraply®:

Any treatment, handling or re-processing of panels may modify the inner characteristics of the poplar plywood, resulting in potentially serious defects.

The following rules for correct use should therefore be followed:

• It is not advisable to use this kind of plywood for decorative purposes. Due to the treatment these boards undergo, the appearance of the wood may become blemished by marks or colored area.
• Any screws, nails, etc. used on Duraply® panels should be rust-proof in order to avoid problems following later treatments.
• When machining panels, always use suitable, high-quality tools, which allow the wood to be cut cleanly, without tearing, shredding, etc.
• The panels should not be hit with anything harder than wood or be subjected to any impact.
• Duraply® panels should not be subjected to extreme conditions while stored, e.g. abrupt changes in moisture or temperature, direct sunlight, rain, or high temperatures.
• Avoid direct contact with any potentially harmful agents i.e. pools of water, soil, moss and fungus.

Duraply® Exterior Treated Properties

The Duraply® treatments help to protect the panel from damage caused by fungi and insects, giving each panel greater durability and resistance. Modified through an innovative treatment, this panel is bonded with exceptional durability, even after sanding or machining. This plywood product is applicable for outdoor use and is immune to attacks from fungi and xylophages, even without delamination. The adhesive is also exterior graded. This exceptionally lightweight and stable panel comes unfinished and must be surface treated with an appropriate finish.

Plywood Grading BB:

Imported plywood (poplar) grading system BB: The front face is graded BB, a high grade which allows for light mineral streaks and a very limited number of knots and splits. BB face is generally even in color. Single piece face veneer allows small tight pin knots. Veneer Core consists of one or more plies of poplar veneer, each sheet laid with the grain direction at a right angle to the adjacent sheets to create an exceptionally durable and bonded core.

Rotary Sliced:

Duraply® poplar face is rotary sliced, which produces veneers with very distinctive grain patterns. The log rotates toward the blade and is peeled in long, wide sheets. Rotary cut is the only cutting method capable of producing whole, single piece faces.
