TIMBRA by GWP offers expertise in combining technology and sustainability in the transformation of tropical wood. TIMBRA by GWP is new generation of wood—moisture resistant, fire-retardant, and 100% natural.
Thermal Modification
TIMBRA by GWP uses only heat and steam to improve the wood’s properties at a cellular level. This modification improves the wood’s resistance to moisture, fungi, and insects while enhancing its natural color and durability. Applied through a high-pressure autoclave impregnation with no chemicals, the treatment penetrates completely inside the timber, delivering long-lasting moisture-resistance across a wide range of wood species.
Burnblock®’s proprietary process ensures maximum fire retardancy while maintaining TIMBRA’s product integrity. A sustainable, dimensionally stable, moisture resistant and fire-retardant lumber, TIMBRA by GWP is the high-performance solution in wood materials.

Cleaning Burnblock® Impregnated Wood
Upon receiving TIMBRA impregnated with Burnblock® fire retardant, a light white powder or salt crystallization residue may be present on the surface. This is a normal outcome due to the vacuum pressure impregnation and dry-down process. Natural weathering will clean the residue, as will surface wetting with a damp wipe and letting It dry completely. This process does not impact the efficacy of the fire performance of the wood.
Advance Grade Lumber
TIMBRA by GWP products undergo intense thermal modification. This process makes Advance selection exceptionally durable with Durability Class 1 (EN350).
In the absence of industry-established and defined quality control standards for thermally modified hardwood, cladding, decking and lumber, TIMBRA by GWP has developed grading standards unique to its products.
Fire Behavior
Tested and trusted worldwide, Burnblock® complies with international fire safety US standards and enables TIMBRA by GWP wood to achieve Class A (ASTM-E2768-11) Classification. No special preparation of the wood is required for this rating.Sustainability
Through its sourcing, thermal modification, and additional Burnblock® fire retardancy, TIMBRA is sustainable at every step.
