Details

The highly desired Accoya® modified timber is now just as dependable with a beautiful shade of gray throughout the wood with Accoya® Color Grey. This lumber product resists swelling, shrinking and distortion, and has minimal movement. As the color is steadfast through the plank, if scuffing occurs it would simply reveal further gray throughout the surface. Choose Accoya® Color Grey applications like pool decking as it is also a naturally water-resistant wood.

Contact your sales or specification representative for more information to customize your project with Accoya® Color Grey.

Sustainably sourced and with a low total lifetime carbon cost, Accoya® actively contributes to a circular, bio-based economy and is one of the few truly sustainable building materials.

Benefits of Accoya® Color Grey:

  • Color-through to the core, requiring less maintenance
  • Non-toxic
  • No additional treatments or coatings needed
  • Easily machinable
  • Superior dimensional stability
  • Easy installation

Care and Maintenance of Accoya® Color Grey

Accoya decking can be cleaned with a stiff brush and clear water. The process is improved by wetting it before cleaning, as the soaking softens the biofilm. For more persistent stains, a cleaning agent can be used, we recommend a cleaning agent with a PH value below nine and to rinse the decking thoroughly with clear water.

The use of a high-pressure cleaner is absolutely unsuitable for wooden decking and is expressly NOT recommended. The high-pressure water jet can damage the wooden boards, regardless of the wood species. Please protect your wood deck with a cover when using a high-pressure cleaner for other materials in the immediate vicinity.

Specifications

Accoya® is a softwood lumber product that is modified through a process called acetylation. This groundbreaking technology modifies the wood uniformly through its cross section, creating an extremely strong and durable wood that is uniquely rot and water resistant, durable, and versatile. Accoya Color is an organic natural product that comes from FSC® certified softwood plantations that take no more than 20 to 25 years to grow. Sustainably sourced, and with a low total lifetime carbon cost, Accoya® actively contributes to a circular, bio-based economy as a truly sustainable building material.

Weathering

Weathering can vary across the deck boards and building elevations due to variation in sunlight and rain exposure. Accoya® Color provides a durable and more uniform appearance through the range of weathering than other wood deck options. It is advised to mix and match boards before installation to provide an aesthetically pleasing mix of shades.

Machining

Processing does not affect the unique properties of Accoya® Wood, as it is modified to the core. It is relatively easy to process and comparable to a softwood or medium-density hardwood. With the right training, no special tools are required for cross cutting, ripping, planning, routing and drilling.
