Details

ColorCore®2 offers the same value and dependability as all the Formica® Laminate collections with the added benefit of solid color throughout. This panel creates a solid color through to the core, eliminating the dark line associated with standard laminates and enhancing the luxury and aesthetic value of the panel. ColorCore®2 is ideal for engraving and routing with its high-performance characteristics.

The colors of ColorCore®2 Laminates can be coordinated to the colors of the standard Formica® Laminate collections but are not considered exact matches. Due to its deep solid color through technology, the decorative surface colors are slightly different, and are considered coordinating rather than exactly matching.

Contact your sales or specification representative for more information on how to customize ColorCore®2 for your project.

Specifications

ColorCore®2 HPL Fabrication:

This laminate line is made of a different resin than other Formica® Laminates, which causes a slightly different hue from corresponding standard HPL colors. This color difference is minimal, however, and does not constitute a defect when color matching the various lines of laminates. Formica® standard HPL and ColorCore®2 Color Through Laminates are considered to coordinate rather than exactly match each other.

ColorCore®2 Laminates are uniquely fabricated to have a solid color through the core of the panel, eliminating the dark line of standard HPL panels. This line is specially suited to perform when engraving and routing are necessary.

Formica® Laminate HPL:

HPL is a paper product comprised of about 70% wood fibers bonded to a medium density fiberboard (MDF), particleboard or plywood core. Formica® Laminate is composed of treated layers of Kraft paper, resins and a decorative sheet pressed together under high heat. The primary make up is naturally occurring sustainably sourced paper. Formica® HPL utilizes Kraft paper for its flexibility, resin for its durability, and decorative paper to complete the look of any style.

Fire Behavior:

ASTM E84 Class B
